Current and former smokers, until the vitamin A form is known

Where the line is

Visivra and the conditions it is not for

Eye supplements sit next to a set of real conditions on the search results page, and it is worth naming the distance.

Glaucoma is an optic nerve disease managed by lowering pressure, usually with drops. Cataract is a clouded lens, treated surgically, and AREDS2 tested these carotenoids against it directly without finding an effect on progression to surgery. Diabetic retinopathy is managed through blood glucose control and retinal screening. Dry eye is a tear film problem, and the TFOS report is the reference for what actually helps it.

Retinitis pigmentosa is the one place a large vitamin A dose is used deliberately in eye medicine, and the Cochrane review of that practice is cautious even there. None of it is what this bottle is sold for.

The point of the list is not caution for its own sake. It is that a person with one of those conditions who buys a capsule instead of attending an appointment has made the only decision here that can actually cost them sight.
